Dorian Yates HIT EAA 360g
Dorian Yates HIT EAA 360g

EAAs (essential amino acids) are the more complete version of the intra-workout amino category compared to BCAAs alone. Dorian Yates' HIT EAA 360g is the brand's full essential amino acid product, designed for lifters who want all nine essentials rather than just the three branched-chain ones.

What it is

A powdered intra-workout or post-workout amino acid product containing all nine essential amino acids - the ones your body can't make from scratch and has to get from food or supplements. Mix one scoop with water during or after training.

Why EAAs vs BCAAs

BCAAs (leucine, isoleucine, valine) are three of the nine essential amino acids. They're the ones most often singled out because leucine in particular is the trigger for muscle protein synthesis. But here's the catch: triggering muscle protein synthesis only does anything useful if your body has all the other essential aminos available to actually build the protein.

If you're taking BCAAs intra-workout but your daily protein intake from food and shakes is already covering the other six essentials comfortably, you're fine. If you're training fasted, in a cut, or your daily protein intake is genuinely borderline, an EAA product is the more complete option because it covers all nine.

This is one of those areas where the 'better' product depends entirely on the rest of your nutrition. For lifters who want to simplify their intra-workout supplement to one product and have it cover the full essential amino spectrum, EAAs are the call. For lifters who already hit their daily protein target comfortably, BCAAs or just water with creatine works.

Who HIT EAA suits

  • Lifters training fasted (morning sessions before breakfast)
  • People in a calorie deficit / cut phase wanting full amino support around training
  • Anyone whose daily protein intake genuinely sits below the 1.6-2.2g per kg target
  • Customers who want one intra-workout product that covers all nine essentials
  • Lifters running long sessions where intra support is genuinely useful

Not generally needed if your daily protein intake is comfortably hitting target from food and quality protein shakes.

Why Dorian Yates

Dorian Yates Nutrition's HIT line is built for lifters running serious training. The EAA product sits in that range as the more complete amino option, sized at 360g for around 20-30 servings depending on your scoop preference.

If you want a leucine-heavy BCAA format instead, the HIT BCAA 10:1:1 is the choice. If you want a balanced BCAA ratio with glutamine added, the HIT BCAA 4:1:1 with Glutamine is the option.

How to use it

One scoop in 400-500ml water during or immediately after training. Drink steadily across the session if using intra-workout. Pair with creatine daily and a quality protein source for the wider stack.

For most lifters, the priority order looks like this: daily protein target from food and shakes first, creatine daily second, EAAs or BCAAs around training third, then the basics for general health (vitamin D3, magnesium, omega-3).
