Collection: Vitamins & Minerals

Vitamins and minerals are the foundation of any sensible supplement routine. This range covers the basics most UK adults are actually short on - vitamin D through the darker months, B12 if your diet is mostly plant-based, zinc and magnesium if you're active or under stress. Real doses. Real forms. No label theatre.

At LSC we've been picking these products since 2006 with one rule: nothing makes the cut unless we'd take it ourselves. You won't find cheap forms here - no magnesium oxide where glycinate or citrate would serve you better, no synthetic B12 when methylcobalamin is available. Browse the range and find what your routine is actually missing.

Why form matters more than the name on the label

Not all vitamins and minerals are equal. The difference between a £4 multivitamin and a properly formulated supplement usually isn't the ingredients - it's the form. Magnesium oxide is cheap to produce but your gut absorbs very little of it. Magnesium glycinate and magnesium citrate are the forms worth taking. Vitamin B12 as cyanocobalamin is the bargain-basement option; methylcobalamin is what your body actually uses best. Zinc picolinate is better absorbed than zinc sulphate or oxide.

When a brand uses the better forms, it costs more per bottle. But the cost per absorbed dose - the number that actually matters - often works out similar or better than a cheaper tub you're mostly flushing away.

Who this range is for

This range suits anyone building a sensible daily routine rather than chasing the next trend. A few common starting points: UK adults from October to March who aren't making enough vitamin D from sunlight. Anyone eating a mostly plant-based diet who needs to cover B12 and possibly iron. Active people and gym-goers whose magnesium and zinc tend to run lower under training load. People in their 40s and 50s supporting energy, bone health, and immune function as part of a long-term routine.

What's in this range

Vitamin D3 is the one supplement most UK adults genuinely need. LSC D3 4000iu is our higher-strength daily option, and LSC D3 + K2 pairs it with vitamin K2 for bone and immune support. Vitamin D contributes to normal immune function and maintenance of normal bones.

LSC B12 Methylcobalamin 1000mcg uses the bioavailable methylcobalamin form rather than cheaper cyanocobalamin. B12 contributes to normal energy-yielding metabolism and reduction of tiredness and fatigue. A solid daily choice if you're plant-based or over 50.

LSC Zinc Picolinate 20mg delivers zinc in the picolinate form. Zinc contributes to normal immune function and to the protection of cells from oxidative stress. Popular through the winter months and with people who train regularly.

How to take it

Most vitamins and minerals work best taken consistently with food. Fat-soluble vitamins - D3 and K2 specifically - absorb better alongside a meal that contains some fat. Magnesium is often best taken in the evening; it contributes to reduction of tiredness and fatigue and to normal muscle function. B12 can be taken any time of day.

If you're taking more than two or three supplements, a simple morning and evening split keeps things consistent.
