Collection: HYROX Supplements

Everything here is chosen for one job: getting you through a HYROX training block and onto the start line in one piece. Eight 1km runs alternating with eight functional stations asks for strength, endurance and recovery all at once, and the nutrition side of that tends to be the part people leave until last.

You will not find anything here promising to knock minutes off your time. What you will find is the hydration, protein, creatine, magnesium and omega-3 side of the job covered properly, at doses that do something, picked by Mark and the team the same way everything else in the shop is. New to the race? Start with our guide to what HYROX actually is.

Start with training and food, not with the tub

This is a supplement shop telling you that supplements are the last ten per cent. If you are not sleeping, not eating enough, or not running enough, nothing on this page fixes that. Get the training block and the plate right first, then use this range to cover what a heavy week makes genuinely hard to get.

What a HYROX block makes hard, in practice, is threefold. Fluid and electrolyte losses go up, because you are training hard indoors. Protein needs go up, because you are asking muscle to repair between sessions four to six times a week. And micronutrient turnover goes up while your appetite and your time to cook often go down.

The six jobs worth covering

Hydration. Sweat is not just water, and the sandbag lunges are where cramp tends to introduce itself. An electrolyte drink around your longer and sweatier sessions is the least glamorous and most useful thing on this page.

Repeated high-intensity efforts. Creatine increases physical performance in successive bursts of short-term, high-intensity exercise, with a daily intake of 3g. Sixteen hard efforts with no real rest is about as close to that description as a race gets.

Protein. Protein contributes to the growth and maintenance of muscle mass. A shake is not magic, it is just the practical way to hit a daily total on the days a proper meal is not going to happen.

Magnesium. Magnesium contributes to normal muscle function, normal energy-yielding metabolism and the reduction of tiredness and fatigue, which is why it tends to live in an evening routine rather than a pre-workout one.

Micronutrient cover. A sports multivitamin is insurance, not a performance product. Useful when training volume is high and the diet is under pressure.

Omega-3. EPA and DHA contribute to the normal function of the heart, at 250mg a day. Oily fish first, a capsule when that is not happening twice a week.

Buy the stack or build your own

The HYROX Stack puts all six jobs in one box at £119.95, which is £25.79 less than buying the six separately at today's prices. The Hybrid Training & Endurance Stack covers four of them at £79.95 for people who already have protein and creatine sorted.

If you would rather start with one thing, start with whichever problem you actually have. Fading and cramping in long sessions points at hydration. Stalling on repeated hard efforts points at creatine. Struggling to recover between sessions points at protein and sleep.

Local to Devon?

We are an independent shop at 22 Hyde Rd, Paignton, and the Exeter events are the closest for most of our customers. Come in Monday to Saturday, 10am to 3pm, and we will go through it with you rather than sell you the biggest box.
