Viridian Organic Flaxseed Oil, Cold-Pressed Plant Omega Source
Viridian Organic Flaxseed Oil (also known as linseed oil) is a cold-pressed liquid oil from organically grown flax seeds. It's a clean, plant-based source of alpha-linolenic acid (ALA), the plant-form omega-3 fatty acid, and a popular daily option for anyone who avoids fish oil.

Why people take flaxseed oil
Flaxseed oil is the most concentrated plant source of ALA, the omega-3 fatty acid the body partially converts to EPA and DHA. ALA contributes to the maintenance of normal blood cholesterol levels (when 2g daily is consumed as part of a balanced diet). For vegans, vegetarians, and anyone who genuinely can't get on with fish oil, flaxseed oil is the go-to.
Viridian's version is cold-pressed from organic flax. Heat damages delicate fats, so cold pressing matters here. It also makes a real difference to flavour.
Who it's for
- Vegans and vegetarians who want a plant-based omega source
- Anyone who finds fish oils repeat on them and wants a fishy-burp-free option
- People adding a daily oil to smoothies, porridge or salad dressings
- Adults supporting a heart-healthy routine, alongside food and movement
What's different about it
Cheap flax oils are often pressed warm or stored badly, which oxidises the oil and ruins both the taste and the nutritional value. Viridian cold-presses theirs from organic flax and bottles it in dark glass to protect it from light. That's how it should be done.
If you'd prefer a marine omega for higher EPA and DHA content, we also stock fish and krill oils in the Omega and Oils range.
How to use it
Take a tablespoon daily, drizzled over food (porridge, salads, smoothies) or straight from a spoon. Don't cook with it, heat damages the omega-3s. Once opened, keep it in the fridge and use within the time stated on the bottle.
