Terranova Fermented Reishi (50 Capsules)
Terranova Fermented Reishi (50 Capsules)

£17.99

Terranova Fermented Reishi is a single-species capsule built around organic reishi mushroom (Ganoderma lucidum), fermented before encapsulation to get more of what's on the label into your bloodstream. Nothing else in the capsule. No magnesium stearate, no titanium dioxide, no fillers. Just reishi that's been treated properly.

Why reishi

Reishi is one of the oldest mushrooms in the traditional Asian apothecary, used for thousands of years across China, Japan, and Korea. The Chinese name for it (lingzhi) roughly translates to mushroom of immortality, which is the kind of name no marketing department would ever sign off on today. The traditional reputation is around calm, recovery, and resilience. The modern research interest sits around its triterpene and beta-glucan content.

It's the mushroom most often picked by customers working on the stress, sleep, and general-resilience side of their routine, rather than the energy-and-output side. It tends to pair well with a quality magnesium glycinate, ashwagandha, or L-theanine for an evening wind-down stack.

Why fermented matters

Reishi is a tough customer. The cell walls are dense with chitin, which the human gut doesn't break down well. Standard reishi powders get you in the right ballpark but a meaningful chunk of the actives never become bioavailable. You're paying for what stays in the capsule.

Fermentation pre-breaks the cell wall structure and starts unlocking the beta-glucans and triterpenes before the capsule even hits your stomach. The result is more available, more usable, and more of what you actually paid for ends up where it can do something. Terranova's Fermented range exists precisely to solve this problem, and it's the reason this version sits at a different price point to a basic powdered reishi.

Who tends to use it

People working on calm-and-recovery rather than stimulation. Customers in their 40s and up wanting to support a daily-wellness routine. Anyone curious about functional mushrooms who'd rather start with one species at a time and see how they respond before committing to a complex. It's also popular with people building an evening stack alongside magnesium.

If you're looking for a more general entry point, the Terranova Fermented Mushroom Complex covers multiple mushrooms in one capsule. If you specifically want reishi, this is the one.

Why Terranova

Terranova has been on the Paignton shop floor for years. Whole-food formulations, clean labels, no synthetic carriers. The brand's philosophy is to do less to the ingredient, not more, which lines up with how we source for LSC. The Fermented range is their answer to the absorption problem that holds back a lot of mushroom supplements, and it's where they earn their price tag.

How to take it

50 capsules per bottle. Follow the directions on the label, typically one capsule daily with food. Reishi tends to suit an evening-routine slot for people using it as part of a wind-down stack, but with-breakfast also works. Pick a time and stick to it.

Give it at least 6 to 8 weeks of consistent daily use before deciding whether it's earning its place. Mushrooms are slow-burn supplements, they work on daily compounding, not on instant hits.

Suitable for vegans and vegetarians. If you're pregnant, breastfeeding, or taking prescription medication (especially anticoagulants or immune-modulating drugs), have a quick chat with your GP or pharmacist before adding it. We can explain what's in the product. We can't advise on interactions with your meds.
