The Little Supplement Company: What You’re Really Buying Into

The Little Supplement Company: What You’re Really Buying Into

Hi, I’m Mark Hamilton. I founded The Little Supplement Company in Devon, and I created LSC Supplements because I got tired of watching an industry that should change lives… do the opposite.

This wasn’t some “let’s start a brand because protein tubs are trending” plan.

It started in the North East of England, where I grew up obsessed with sport, performance, and the idea that you can build a better life if you build a better body. My first proper job was in the gym industry as a Gym Instructor and Personal Trainer, and that’s where the lightbulb moment hit.

Not “I want to be rich.”
Not “I want to be famous.”

I wanted to help people become healthier, stronger, and more educated so they could stay well for as long as they live.

That mission has never changed:
change lives for the better, one day at a time.

And yes, I still talk to the universe every day. Call it mindset, faith, intuition, whatever helps you sleep at night. I ask for help making the right decisions so I can keep doing the work properly, without selling out.

From Gym Floor to Supplement World

By my mid-twenties, I knew I wanted a bigger reach than one-to-one coaching, so I moved into supplements, and I ended up working with Solgar. At the time, they were the gold standard: not just selling products, but educating staff and retailers so customers actually understood what they were taking and why.

That educational approach shaped everything I do now, and it’s the reason I run my YouTube channel today.
Knowledge should be free.
Because if people don’t understand what they’re buying, they’ll always get sold whatever has the loudest label.

Then Solgar got bought out by a big conglomerate, and the shift began: more sales pressure, more cost-cutting, formulas drifting toward cheaper ingredients.

So I walked away.
BMW company car. Strong salary. The whole “safe” setup.

Not because I’m brave. Because I’m stubborn and I don’t like being told to push things I don’t believe in.

I joined a smaller start-up with better ethics, took the pay cut, drove the embarrassing car, and went back into what I’m best at: training and education. I worked with therapists, nutritionists, clinics, and practitioners. I travelled, learned the industry inside out, and saw how the machine really works.

Here’s the ugly truth:

Most big chains prioritise sales. Not outcomes.
If it sells fast, it gets stocked.
If it’s cheap to produce, it gets pushed.
If the label looks cool, it gets repeated.

2006: The Shop That Became a Standard

In 2006, my wife (pregnant at the time) and I bought our own health shop. That’s when The Little Supplement Company really began.

We built it around one rule:

Only sell what we genuinely believe can help people.

Over the years we’ve attracted a team and a community of people who value the same things: honesty, quality, and real results. People don’t come to us because we have the most brands. They come because we tell them the truth.

And truthfully… most supplements on the market aren’t worth the tub they come in.

I once got asked on an ITN production:
“Mark… do supplements really work?”

My answer was instant:

Most of them don’t.
I believe around 80% of supplements sold today are basically expensive urine.

The industry grew fast, health became trendy, and companies started spending more on marketing than on ingredients. Promising miracles. Delivering rubbish.

But the other side of that is important:

The best 20% can be life-changing.
I’ve seen it thousands of times. When quality is right, dosing is right, and the product matches the person… supplements can be transformational.

What Makes Us Different (And Why That Matters)

If you walk into our shop, you won’t see walls of every trending brand under the sun. You’ll see carefully chosen, practitioner-level supplements. The kind where you can actually trace the thinking behind them.

And we don’t just hand you a product and shove you toward the till.

Someone says: “I can’t sleep.”
We don’t go: “Valerian.”

We ask why.
Then we ask better questions.
Then we talk about caffeine timing, stress, blue light, food, routine, hormones, nervous system load.

Because supplements aren’t magic.
They’re tools. And tools only work when you use the right one for the right job.

Why I Created LSC Supplements

Eventually, I got to the point where I thought:

If quality is this hard to find…
and if people keep getting ripped off…
then I’m building the solution myself.

That’s how LSC Supplements was born.

Can I always compete on price?

No. And I’m not trying to.

Fiat can’t compete with Ferrari.
A cheap formula can’t compete with therapeutic dosing, clean ingredients, and products designed to actually do something.

LSC is built on the same principles as the brands I’ve always respected and stocked, like Viridian and Terranova:
no pointless fillers, no cheap binders, no “fairy dust” amounts of ten ingredients just to look impressive.

My formulas are built differently:

  • Less clutter, more purpose

  • Real-world doses that can actually move the needle

  • Bespoke blends designed for outcomes, not label hype

And I don’t create products because something is “selling on TikTok.”
I create them because I see the same problems daily: fatigue, stress, gut issues, sleep problems, hormone chaos, joint pain, poor recovery.

I build solutions for real people, not algorithms.

The Ethos (The Bit That Can’t Be Faked)

My accountant once told me I give too much free advice.
That I could raise prices and squeeze more margin.

She’s probably right. On paper.

But that’s not what this is.

If I spend 40 minutes helping someone for free and they still go buy the cheapest version on Amazon, that’s their choice.

But I did my part.
And at least they didn’t waste money blindly without understanding what they were doing.

This business is built on something old-fashioned and apparently unpopular in 2026:

Do the right thing, even when it costs you.
Be honest, even when it’s inconvenient.
If you’re going to do something, do it properly.

Karma can be a bitch…
but it can also look after you.

And that’s what The Little Supplement Company is about.

Not trends. Not hype. Not gimmicks.

Real supplements. Real guidance. Real care.
One person at a time.
